Vulnerability Found In Ask.com Toolbar

Ask.com, a 11 year old search engine is already a marginal player in the global search business dominated by Google, Yahoo and MSN, but a new damning report might just take away its existing base of loyal users.

According to security experts, the company’s browser toolbar for Internet Explorer might have a flaw that could enable attacker to take control of a person’s computer.

This security flaw is related to a buffer overflow flaw in the toolbar and involves an ActiveX control. Security vendor Secunia APS has posted it and has called it highly critical.

Ask.com is yet to release a statement on this report or is yet to fix the problem.
