3M Selects HP Neoview to Enhance Global Business Intelligence

Hewlett Packard said last week that Technology company 3M has purchased the HP Neoview data warehousing platform to enhance its global business intelligence capabilities.

Neoview will enable integration and analysis of 3M’s financial data, including the company’s general ledger, so that 3M can react in near real time to everyday opportunities and threats.

“We are looking for a new level of price/performance to help grow our business through enhanced business intelligence solutions,” said Peter Godfrey, director, global information technology infrastructure, 3M.

“As a long-time data warehouse user, we are excited to get the new Neoview platform in house and to prove its capabilities.”

The HP Neoview data warehouse platform integrates hardware, software and services to offer customers a comprehensive view of essential business information, such as metrics on product sales, customer trends, production and operational effectiveness. This allows for real-time decision making and historical analysis.

“Our customers are some of the world’s largest businesses and Neoview is precisely tuned to enable the volumes of information they generate every second to be better leveraged for business advantage,” said Michelle Dorn, Director, Business Intelligence & Information Management, HP Software, Asia Pacific and Japan.

“HP Neoview offers 24x7 availability built on cost-effective, industry-standard hardware. Having gone in search of replacements for our competitors’ data warehousing solutions, customers agree that the return on investment with Neoview is unmatched in the industry.”

3M’s HP Neoview solution is paired with software from leading business intelligence software vendor Business Objects and leading data integration software provider Informatica.
