Huawei’s Market Share in DSL Continues to Rise

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, a provider next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators worldwide said that a recent Gartner report has placed it in the Number 1 spot in the global IP DSLAM market.

According to the Gartner report which was published in the third quarter of 2001, Huawei’s IP DSLAM port shipments in Q307 accounted for 77.3 percent of all DSLAM shipments globally and the company shipped more than 70 million DSL ports to more than 90 countries worldwide.

Huawei currently holds 31.5 percent of the global IP DSLAM market share.

"With the increasing demand for high-quality multi-play services, such as IPTV, HSI and 3G, the IP access market is growing rapidly," said Daniel Tang, Vice President of Huawei Network Product Line.

Huawei IP DSLAM is fully compliant with the TR-101 standard and enables carriers to provide excellent broadband networks with its powerful bandwidth handling capabilities and abundant service features.
