Indonesian Schools Rapidly Adopt Oracle Education Foundation’s Think.com

The Oracle Education Foundation’s Think.com programme continues to expand across Indonesia. More than 1711 Indonesian students benefit from Think.com’s online learning community. Since its inauguration in 2006, more than 124 schools have joined Think.com and another 185 schools are in the process of joining Think.com’s protected online learning community.

As a result, more than 1,711 students are participating actively in Think.com to build knowledge, collaborate on projects and share educational content with the 355,370 students and teachers from 43 countries who are already members of Think.com. "We are excited that Think.com has achieved such rapid growth in the Indonesian education system," said Adi Rusli, Managing Director Oracle Indonesia. He adds, Indonesian students are using Think.com to enhance classroom learning and to develop vital skills needed for life and work in the 21st century. This Think.com in Indonesia encourages teamwork, collaboration and cross-cultural understanding.

Currently, Oracle and the Oracle Education Foundation have introduced new ways to help expose students to the fun and rewards of becoming part of the Think.com community, including hands-on workshops and local competitions. In addition, Oracle recently held a competition for existing school members in the country that focused on the creative ways that schools and teachers were utilizing Think.com in their learning activities.

Regarding this programme, Suyanto, Director General of Elementary and Middle Education at the Department of National Education said that strong IT knowledge and skills are basic pre-requisites for students today to participate in a global economy. "Our strategic partnership with the Oracle Education Foundation and Oracle Indonesia allows us to increase the educational opportunities and skills base for students of all levels," Suyanto said.
