Orange Business Services will be offering mobile access to Business Talk-- its global voice service for enterprises-- allowing customers to make international calls from their mobile phone over its international voice network regardless of the mobile carrier they subscribe to.
According to Orange, which is a key brand of France Telecom, this fixed-mobile convergence service will allow customers to enjoy a slew of benefits that include churning out a detailed usage report which allows customers to keep track of their usage and ultimately save cost.
The service supports Windows and Symbian operating systems currently and has plans to open up to Blackberry as well.
“One of the main mobility support goals of IT in 2008 will be improving analysis of cost and usage trends to understand current-state usage patterns and predict IT support budget needs for the next 18 to 24 months,” according to Brownlee Thomas, Ph.D., Forrester, in a Jan. 2008 report titled “MNCs Will Prioritize Mobility Support in 2008.”
This service, is initially available in 22 countries spanning Asia, Europe and the U.S., and according to Orange, will increase to 28 countries by the end of the second quarter of this year. |
